The days go slow but the years go fast. This saying will have particular resonance with parents, who watch the clock tick by slowly while wondering how your five year old is about to sign up for Driver’s Ed. As my own children enter adulthood (though that’s a legal technicality, they’ll always be children in my eyes), I am so proud of their accomplishments, and so grateful for the daily joys they’ve provided my family. Children redefine the meaning of home as the memories of each room fill with their struggles and triumphs. This issue is dedicated to kids, a feeling with which I’m happily familiar.
There have been many studies proving the health benefits of pet ownership, and as the proud owner of two bearded collies, I can attest to their merit. It’s perhaps no surprise that my dogs love fabric and upholstery as much as I do and have many favorite lounging areas in my home. At Kravet, we often mention the advantages of using durable, heavy duty upholstery in rooms where dogs, cats and children roam free. When your home is welcoming and comfortable, when a stain can be wiped away and a sofa is well-loved for many years by both you and your pets; well, we don’t need a study to know the benefits of that.
