“When people see my photographs, I want them to enjoy and wonder about the moment depicted, but mostly I want them to feel free.”
Marc Tousignant is a fashion and style photographer who hails from Montreal and is now based in New York City. His work is pure and colorful, and has a clean graphic nature. “I like to freeze the moment in a way that was almost prepared and unreal,” he says. With published work in magazines such as W, Miami and Ocean Drive, he is becoming well known for his approach to fashion photography.
An avid traveler, Marc finds inspiration everywhere, and loves working with color. By mixing color in his photographs, he conveys different emotions and creates images that viewers relate to instantly.
“I love color,” he says, “Color represents happiness and beauty. When people see my photographs, I want them to enjoy and wonder about the moment depicted, but mostly I want them to feel free.”
It is Marc’s ultimate goal through this work to create beautiful images that reflect his personal take on subject, composition, color and expression. In addition to his thoughtful depictions of daily life through his work, he loves shooting fashion images, he says, “because you can create without boundaries. You can invent characters that don’t really exist.”
