West Green House Garden

Greenery, foliage and flowers have always provided a deep well of inspiration for color and design. The magical gardens at West Green House, which hosts a summer season of outdoor opera and music, inspired the latest collection from GP & J Baker, called “Opera Garden.” The captivating landscape consists of parterre gardens, whimsical topiary, potagers, serene lakes and sparkling rills.

The garden has many original features including a grand water staircase, created by Marylyn Abbott, which provides the focal point to the Nymphaeum fountain designed by Quinlan Terry. A delightful series of walled gardens surrounds the charming 18th century house. In a nearby topiary garden, water lilies flourish in small water tanks sunk in the ground. It runs up to a handsome aviary inhabited by unusual breeds of bantams and chickens.

Beyond, the grounds host a dramatic new Persian water garden in a woodland glade, a newly restored lake, new walks and massive plantings of snowdrops, daffodils and fritillaries. West Green House is located in London’s South End. For more, visit http://www.westgreenhouse.co.uk .
